I have been at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital since September 1996, serving as an applied biostatistician with over 160 manuscripts in peer-reviewed medical journals. I have worked extensively on prospective and retrospective studies of children with solid malignancies and I have been involved in several studies of children and adolescents with Hodgkin disease. From 2005 to 2015, I served as the statistician for the Pediatric Preclinical Testing Program, an initiative supported by the National Cancer Institute to identify novel therapeutic agents that may have significant activity against childhood cancers. I am currently working with investigators in the Division of Neuro-Oncology and the larger institutional Brain Tumor Program, and I also serve as a biostatistician for the Pediatric Brain Tumor Consortium, a multidisciplinary cooperative research organization devoted to the study of correlative tumor biology and new therapies for primary CNS tumors of childhood, as well as for the Children’s Oncology Group (COG).

As a biostatistician, I’ve been serving St. Jude’s childhood cancer research since 2002. It’s my privilege to be a part of the Division of Biostatistics for the Department of Epidemiology and Cancer Controls. My primary efforts are providing biostatistical collaboration and analyses on childhood cancer survivorship studies that ultimately seek to improve the survivors’ quality of life. The studies come from two resources. One is the Childhood Cancer Survivor Studies (CCSS), “the world’s single largest resource of survivorship research” with prospectively followed patient-reported outcomes. The other is Establishment of a Lifetime Cohort of Adults Surviving Childhood Cancer (SJLIFE), containing thousands of St. Jude survivors prospectively followed for comprehensive clinical evaluations and surveys throughout their lifetime. Some other collaborative areas I had worked on previously included psychology, nursing research, Radiation Oncology, Diagnostic Imaging, virology. I am passionate about my work here at St. Jude, the best place to work!
